  Click here to shop Old Crow Pottery Creating works in clay has long been my passion. Nearly 40 years in fact. It started in college a long time ago and never let me go. There is something about handling clay that draws one's interest to make something. If you've ever handled clay you know. The texture, the smell, the amiable quality of the medium. The pottery process has many different stages, each requiring its own set of challenges. Challenges I still love to embrace. Functional pottery lends itself to all forms, shapes, and of course uses. The ware is made for everyday use, displaying versatility, strength and of course decoration. The ware is thrown on a potters wheel, trimmed, hand painted, bisque fired then glazed fired using high fire stoneware clays and glazes. It is often for over, dishwasher and microwave but mostly intended for everyday use. Don't be afraid to bake your favorite recipe in any of my pieces. Inspiration for painted ware is from local flora and fauna as well as designs seen in Italy, particularly the Amalfi coast. Old Crow, my handle, is indicative of my stage in life and my trek through the pottery experience. And who doesn't like crows?
